“Awakening the ‘Sleeping Dragon’…”
The Dragon is revered in Eastern Wisdom Traditions as an Energy, Attitude and Metaphor for Personal Power and Positive Change in desirable and constructive ways.
“Jing” is the term often used to describe “Qi” (pronounced “Chi”) in its physical form as Vitality of the physical body and the “Body-Mind” that directs it.
“Qi” at least one level is Energy as a cycle as it turns into Matter…and then returns from Matter back into Energy. This “Information/ Energy Exchange” is often recognized in us personally as our “Life Force” moving through our thoughts, actions, feelings and emotions …and how they are doing in the “Present-Moment”. This is often referred to as “Heart-Mind” in Traditional Chinese Medicine (T.C.M.) and Qi-Gong.
“Shen” is a term often used to give us a Way to work with our “Spirit-Mind” …which has something to do with what we sense can…or cannot become possible for us now and in the future. In other words, whether “Our Problems feel Bigger than our Perspective…or our Perspectives feel Bigger than our Problems”. This gives us our “View”… and It is said that “The ‘View’ is Everything!”
Together these comprise the Energies of the Taoist “3 Treasures” of the Lower, Middle and Upper Dan T’ien. The “Harmony of Jing, Qi, Shen” is the Essence of Dragon “Solution-Mind” and are regarded in Taoist Qi-Gong and Traditional Chinese Medicine as “The 3 Finest Medicines” that hold The “Secret” to realizing One’s full-potential of Personal Power and Positive Change in ANY chosen area of One’s Life.
“Awakening The Sleeping Dragon…”
It was in attending my second clinic conducted by Great-GrandMaster Villari at the Natick school in November 1975 that GGM Villari offered us insight and encouragement as to what to pay attention to… and what makes a difference… in increasing our possibilities to realize more and more of our potential. He encouraged us…and challenged us.
“The Spine is the ‘Dragon’ that connects everything for your Power…Pay Attention to the Spine and learn to move and relax your spine to ‘Be Your Best’. Be a beginner…or Be advanced. To Be Advanced is to Learn to “Awaken the ‘Sleeping Dragon’… Half of ALL POWER… Comes from Knowing ‘HOW’ and ‘WHEN’ TO Relax”. Most people just try harder with what they already know and that’s not it. Be Smarter.”
Not only was this valuable advice and insight at the time…I have found it more and more True over time…and I am continuing to learn from this and find it more and more True every day.
